MOUNTAIN BIKING-THE COLOMBIER RIDE

Grab an early taxi and have the driver take
you to the French city of Marigot. There, you'll meet your riding buddies.
You'll be using a Fox Racing Bike - all terrain type. You'll be pushed
somewhat hard, so you better be in pretty good shape.
We start in French Marigot and ride up to the Friar's Bay Beach Cafe and
back. This is St. Martin's version of a country drive, taking the road
that leads inland to the hamlet of Colombier. This short, pleasant side
trip offers a glimpse of a rural lifestyle that has long disappeared
elsewhere on the island. The scenery along the way is bucolic with stone
fences, big mango trees, an old coconut-palm plantation and hillside
pastures.
This is not the hardest ride... and is about 2 hours in length, counting
the time that you're catching the rays, sitting on the beach.
It will be a good ride. You'll sweat a little. You'll feel real good
afterwards.
