NO HOCH CENOTE ECO-TOUR 'INDIANA JONES' STYLE - PLAYA
$108 Per Person

This cavern trip begins first class when you are picked up in a Mercedes Benz Unimog, an open safari-style vehicle, to begin your 1 1/2 mile jungle crossing over the rocky path that lasts about 45 minutes.

Once you arrive near the Nohoch Nah Chich, which means "Giant House of the Birds", it will be a short hike to the area of this cenote. You will have a few minutes to visit with the family, whose property houses this special sink hole. Then you will begin your snorkel tour with water-resistant flashlights and move slowly through the longest underwater cave in the world.

It will take you about an hour to meander through this unbelievable area of caves. This experience is usually available only to scuba divers and so snorkelers revel in such an unusual adventure.

You will arrive at Heaven's Gate (yes - it is really called that) and emerge from the cave system just in time to collapse into a hand-made hammock. As you gaze up at the clouds and contemplate your underground conquest, you can think of the wonder of nature's gifts to us.

Enjoy a feast of lunch with the Mayan community and, rejuvenated, board your vehicle and move on to a second adventure.

Punta Soliman Bay offers a second high to the snorkeler and, as you kayak out to the gorgeous reefs, you will be able to compare the different life forms found in each ecosystem today. This relaxing segment of your tour lasts about an hour.

Then, sadly, it's time to return to the real world.
