COLUMBUS TO CRANBROOK
$98 Per Person (6 Hours) In
1494, Christopher Columbus landed along the coast of St. Ann and begun a
new chapter in the island’s heritage and that of the new world. Share in
this legacy on an exciting tour of the heritage sites of St. Ann.
The tour begins with a visit to the statue and home of National Hero and
founder of one of the largest negro movements in the world, the Rt. Hon.
Marcus Mosiah Garvey. It continues to other attractions and points of
interests such as the town’s harbour where the search for Columbus’s
sunken ships and its treasures is on-going.
Other highlights include a tour of the ruins of the first Spanish capital
in Jamaica, Maima Seville. A visit to the Seville Great House and museum
provides a quick trip back in time to the island’s colonial and
pre-colonial periods.
A delicious Jamaican lunch precedes the next stop, at the Cranbrook
Estate. Its beautifully landscaped gardens and parks and meandering cool
mountains streams, offer a great chance for a swim, some fun and
relaxation. A tour of the property and great house completes the heritage
experience and precedes the return journey along the very scenic coastline
of northern Jamaica.
