RAINFOREST AERIAL TRAM AND TITOU GORGE
$83 Per Person
Whether it's the rainforest canopy, the cool majesty of Titou Gorge, or
the beauty of the Botanical Gardens, this tour brings you into close
contact with many of this Nature Island’s wonders.
After a short air-conditioned ride up the verdant Roseau Valley, at the
Village of Laudat, you board your eight-person open-air canopy gondolas,
to glide through treetops – Gomer and Chataigner trees among them –
above streams and gorges, and among spectacular views of mountain peaks
and the Caribbean.
Vines, ferns, bromeliads and other epiphytes make the treetops their
home. Many colorful and interesting insects, along with many of the 165
(or so) bird species that call Dominica home, live in this fascinating
high-above-the-rainforest-floor ecosystem. At the end of the tram ride,
you’ll enjoy refreshments and shopping.
Then, just inside the boundaries of the Morne Trois Pitons National Park
is Titou Gorge – it translates as “little throat hole” – featuring a
small, spectacular falls. Swimming through the gorge into the pool at
the falls base is exhilarating and picturesque. On your swim out of the
gorge, you can rest and soak in the warm waters of a hot spring.
The Sisserou Parrot, Dominica’s national bird, is just one of the myriad
of flora and fauna attractions at the Botanical Gardens in the Trafalgar
Valley. Then, on the way back to your ship or hotel, you'll stop at
Morne Bruce, some 400 feet above the City of Roseau, providing an
excellent view and photo opportunity.
This 5-hour “treetops to gorge to botanical gardens” outing includes all
transportation, fees, and one complimentary beverage.
