The 30 minute drive from the coast of the "Nature Isle of the Caribbean" to the launching point rises through a lovely, lush landscape and rain forest. Once at the launch site, you receive a full safety briefing and life jacket, then grab your paddles and mount your colorful, specially designed inner tube. Your guide will then set you loose for your leisurely 90 minute ride through the Layou’s deep, shaded gorges, as you gently spin and swirl in the current and occasional rapids. This tour will delight every member of the family.

Besides the sheer height and beauty of the gorge’s rock walls, birds abound along the route. You might see Green Back Heron, King Fishers and Sun Pipers. Frogs and crabs may also make your acquaintance along the shores, as might an occasional iguana.

Explore the Layou River to your heart’s content, and enjoy a brief stop to enjoy its cool and refreshing waters. Gentle breezes flow along the contours of the river valley as numerous trees provide shade along the way.
