OLD BELIZE TOUR, CITY TOUR AND CUCUMBER
BEACH
$64 Per Person
This jam-packed tour begins with a tour of Belize City. Belize City is
teeming with commerce and has adapted its two sides of the river with a
connection by the Swing Bridge. You will see the bustle, along with
historic Fort George, a variety of embassies, consulate homes, and an
area called the Beverly Hills of Belize.
From here, you will visit unforgettable Old Belize, a site that will
offer a deeper appreciation for the country and people of Belize. You
can enjoy the displays at your leisure, including a rainforest exhibit
that showcases giant tropical trees that tower the path you walk. Inside
this display a waterfall and limestone cave depict magnificent
stalactite and stalagmite formations. There is also a Maya exhibit,
where every element has been meticulously and artistically recreated to
portray the mysticism of Mayan culture. Other exhibits feature the
industrial period, boasting a recovered steam-powered sugar mill, an
explanation of how chewing gum is created, a sawmill, a description of
Belize's logging history, a complete home of the Garifuna, an ethnic
group of Belize, and a recreation of a 19th century Belize Town Street,
complete with Creole influences.
After the sensory overload of Old Belize, you will welcome your time at
Cucumber Beach, located on the same property as Old Belize. Seven miles
out from this white sand beach lies the second largest living barrier
reef in the world. On the beach you can dip into the Caribbean Sea,
lounge under one of the palapas or a coconut tree with your favorite
drink, have a bite to eat or bask in the sun for a bit. Activities
including snorkeling and glass bottom boats can also be arranged.
Your total time at Old Belize and Cucumber Beach is approximately 2
hours. You may divide the time between these 2 locations however you
wish.
